Out of Bounds was opened in the May of 2009 and is owned by Anne. It is powered by WordPress and hosted by Anthony from anthonology.net. This website is my little home in the web community, and where I can express myself and blog about what’s happening in my life.
Behind the Name
The name “Out of Bounds” is taken directly from the title of a song I wrote earlier this year. The term out of bounds is used commonly in sports, often shortened to the simple “out” (like in tennis and baseball). But this phrase, to me, also talks about how I can be most of the time. I can be quiet and deep in thought or random and loud. However I’m acting at any time I think should be referred to as out of bounds, because, well, it’s not ordinary and it doesn’t have to be acceptable.
My Host
I’d like to thank the wonderful Anthony for being my host. He’s helpful and always responds to my questions ASAP. He is my second host so far, but I’m glad to say it’s already an amazing experience to be hosted by him!
Webdesign History
My webdesign experience is pretty short compared to others. It started in January of this year, and in the winter last year I began using Photoshop CS4. In 2007, I was using a scaled-down version of Photoshop, which is Photoshop Elements, but I wasn’t an avid graphic designer. It was pretty much all for fun. When I decided to learn how to use the real Photoshop, I stumbled across tutorials from websites like Swimchick and Outspoken Kate. For a couple of months, all I was doing was blending, making these awfully bright, overdone celebrity blends. When I finally took it to the next level, I was still using generic celebrity images, but with more advanced techniques.
The webdesigning began with Freewebs. Unlike other people, I didn’t start with Piczo or Neopets. On my Freewebs site, it was my first taste of writing graphic tutorials and blogging regularly. Although I probably had at most one or two visitors besides myself, it provided great motivation to open a real website with a bigger visitor base. I applied for subdomain hosting over at Vintage Peace and for a while, I was hosted by Emme. She was a lovely host, but I was using premade celebrity layouts and let’s just say that my HTML was pretty amateur, and I felt I wasn’t being too original.
I then found uni.cc and their free domains. I registered Out of Bounds and moved to Chaste Love Hosting, managed by Chylla. That was a great change for my webdesign and graphic skills! I began coding my own layouts, switched from FanUpdate to WordPress, wrote much better tutorials, had affiliates and commenters, and blogged on a regular basis. By the summer of 2009, though, weeks of downtime occurred and apparently Chaste Love wasn’t going back up again. When I stumbled across Anthony’s site, I saw that he offered free hosting, and I was desperate for a new host. So here I am, at outofbounds.uni.cc!

Hi there; my name’s Anne. I was born on Halloween and I have one sibling. He’s six years old and extremely cute! His name’s Robert…and he loves Legos, drawing on my wall, door, and notebooks; as well as the color blue. We’re almost complete opposites – he’s outgoing and has a great sense of humor and loves math/art.
